Dr. An’s Story – Fibroid Patient

Video Transcription

My name is doctor Su Yun An I’ve always known that I have uterine fibroid over the last 7 or 8 years, and I didn’t realize gradually it was growing and interfering with my life, but because these changes were so subtle, I was trying to brush it off side, saying that, well, everybody has menstrual cramps, or everybody has this kind of problem, but just because everyone has it, doesn’t make it normal.

My OBGYN was very sure that I should get a myomectomy. I have some friends who’ve actually gotten myomectomy with some complications and they took whole lot longer than me to recover as well. It took me three days to fully recover. The first 12 hours was very difficult, but gradually it went away relatively quickly. Within about 48 hours, I was able to walk and do most of the chores, and I even felt like I could go back to work that day, but I took additional day off. It was nothing. It was everything that I could manage. I almost want to call Dr. office every month, every time I have my cycle because it’s just so much better.

My message to you is to really consider this procedure because it has been a life changing experience for me, and now if I talk to any woman who have uterine fibroids, without hesitation I recommend Dr. Doe and his office.

Yola’s Story – Fibroid Patient

Hi. My name is Yola Ankar. I heard about Dr. Doe through one of my gym members, who happens to be a gynecologist. The symptoms I was having was a lot of bloating, cramps, and I was going to the restroom way too much. Then I felt a lump and noticed something was definitely not right with my body. They did tests and told me that I had fibroids, and that I had to contact a gynecologist. I went to see a gynecologist, and that’s when he told me what my options were. I didn’t like the type of options he gave me, the myomectomy and the hysterectomy.

I looked at both options. A hysterectomy was out of the question because I’m too young, and I did not want to go into having surgery in the hospital. Why I chose UFE over a hysterectomy is I wanted to keep my uterus. I did my research. I was happy with what I would be getting and the outcome, and that was definitely my goal, is just I wanted to be free. I went back to work in three days. Yeah, took two days off, but two, three days, I was back to work. My life now, after UFE, is one hundred percent great. I feel vibrant, happy. I don’t feel irritable.

Dr. Doe and his staff are completely awesome. As soon as I came into the door, I was greeted. They asked me how I was doing. After my surgery, they called and checked on me to make sure I was okay. I felt one hundred percent safe. I had a great experience at Houston VIR, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone I meet.
